PRIVACY POLICY
What we collect, why we need it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains how Interworld Board Games (Pty) Ltd collects and uses personal information through this website, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
2. What we collect
We only collect what we need to answer you and to get a box to your door:
- When you order: your name, email address, phone number and delivery address.
- When you create an account: your email address and password (stored securely by WordPress), plus the order history and saved addresses linked to your account.
- When you contact us: your name, email address and whatever you choose to put in your message.
- When you subscribe: your email address.
Card payments are processed by our payment gateway, Yoco, directly on their secure hosted payment page — we do not see or store your full card number. See Cookies and browser storage for how our shop uses cookies.
3. Cookies and browser storage
This site runs on WordPress with WooCommerce, which uses cookies to make the shop work — remembering what's in your cart, keeping you logged in to your account, and telling apart signed-in visitors for security. These are functional cookies that the shop needs in order to work.
If we add analytics or advertising cookies in future, we will say so here and update this policy before we do.
4. Why we use it
- To process, deliver and invoice your order.
- To answer your enquiries.
- To send the newsletter, if you asked for it.
- To keep proper accounting records, as the law requires.
5. Who we share it with
We share delivery details with PostNet, who bring your order to your nearest branch, payment details with our payment gateway, Yoco, and relevant records with our accountants, where they need it to do their work for us. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
6. How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for 5 years, as tax law requires. Enquiries and newsletter subscriptions are kept until you ask us to remove them.
7. Your rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, and unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Write to info@interworldboardgames.com and we will respond.
Our information officer is Abdul Monien Kader. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
8. Children
Our games are for children, but this website is meant for the adults who buy them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you give us. No website can promise perfect security, but we will tell you and the Regulator if a breach affects your information, as POPIA requires.
